Daily Devotional | 1 Corinthians 13:4-8b Love Never Fails Devotion

1 Corinthians 13:4-8b Love suffers long and is kind, love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not  puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  LOVE NEVER FAILS.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day means expressing your love and devotion to the one you are sending a card to or doing something special for them.  How can a person fulfill 1 Corinthians 13:4-8b if a card is sent to someone you have hard feelings toward?  Can we be honest with ourselves?  Was the card sent out because we felt we needed to do it or did we really want to do it?

When we are looking through all of the cards to find just the right one for that special person, you find each one has words of love inside of them. What if we are mad at one of our family members or friends? How can we send them a card that has such loving words in it without going back to them and making things right?  It seems like it would hurt them if they knew we were mad at them, and yet sent them a card full of loving words. It would be better for us to go quickly to them, letting them know that we want to make things right, and we have missed the fellowship that we had with them before.  Then, we could truly enjoy special times together.

Have you ever read a card and wished that you could send it to someone you loved long ago, that you miss?  Let’s send cards because we really want to let each person know that they are loved by us.
