The Lord requires us to keep His commandments, His statutes and His ordinances, which He also commanded our fathers to keep. 1 Kings 8:61 says, “Let your heart therefore be wholly devoted to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and to keep His commandments, as at this day.”

Again, in I Kings 9:4-5a the Lord says, “If you will walk before Me as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep My statutes and My ordinances, then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever.”

What if husbands understood and kept God’s commandments, statutes and ordinances? Would God establish the throne of his kingdom in their homes?

Is this what is wrong with our families? Do husbands have questioning spirits to discover God’s commandments, statutes and ordinances? If not, why not? Why won’t more men strive to show their wives and children what really loving the Lord looks like?
